北村由夏／医学・医療翻訳者
大学在籍中渡欧、現地で語学を学び、1990年より翻訳・通訳業開始。帰国後、商社に入社し、海外営業を担当する一方で、副業として翻訳・通訳業を続ける。翻訳学校で医薬翻訳および時事翻訳を学び、2007年に医療従事者の免許取得。2010年よりフリーランスにて医学・医療翻訳を専業とする。専門分野はリハビリテーション、高齢者医療、精神医学、整形、脳神経、看護など。

Her 28 years' career started in 1990 when she was living in Europe, and it was highlighted by some interesting translation projects, such as the world's first broadcast abroad of a famous Japanese manga series “Doraemon”. While being engaged in overseas management for a Japanese import company after returning to Japan, she studied medical and journalistic translations from 2000, and passed a licensure exam for occupational therapists in 2007. Currently, she is engaged in full-time freelance translation, specializing in rehabilitation medicine, neurology, and psychology.
