Yuka Kitamura / Medical translator
Her career as a translator began around 1990, when she was living in Europe. Her early work included several notable projects, such as involvement in the world’s first overseas television broadcast of the famous Japanese manga series Doraemon. After returning to Japan, she worked in overseas business operations for a Japanese import company while studying medical and journalistic translation from 2000. In 2007, she passed the national licensure examination for occupational therapists. She is currently a full-time freelance translator specializing in rehabilitation medicine, neurology, psychiatry, and related fields. In recent years, she has also been handling numerous projects involving clinical trials and related documentation.
