北村由夏（きたむらゆか）／医学・医療翻訳者

大学在籍中渡欧、現地で語学を学び、1990年より翻訳・通訳業開始。帰国後、商社に入社し、海外営業を担当する一方で、副業として翻訳・通訳業を続け、翻訳学校で医薬翻訳および時事翻訳を学び、2007年に医療従事者の免許取得。商社退職後に大手企業でのオンサイト翻訳を経て、2010年よりフリーランスにて医学・医療翻訳専業に。専門分野はリハビリテーション、高齢者医療、精神医学、整形、脳神経など。近年は治験、臨床試験関連も多数。

Yuka Kitamura / Medical translator

Her career as a translator began around 1990, when she was living in Europe. Her early work included several notable projects, such as involvement in the world’s first overseas television broadcast of the famous Japanese manga series Doraemon. After returning to Japan, she worked in overseas business operations for a Japanese import company while studying medical and journalistic translation from 2000. In 2007, she passed the national licensure examination for occupational therapists. She is currently a full-time freelance translator specializing in rehabilitation medicine, neurology, psychiatry, and related fields. In recent years, she has also been handling numerous projects involving clinical trials and related documentation.
